This month's topic: Field Herpetology & Novel Detection Techniques
Overview: The San Diego Herpetological Society's July 16th meeting will host PhD student Kristin Kabat.
Kristin will be discussing her masters research on the development of novel sampling techniques for the detection of cryptic terrestrial reptiles. She will also share stories from her career in herpetology thus far- from invasive brown treesnakes to putting helmets on rattlesnakes.
Speaker: Kristin Kabat - Kristin is currently a PhD student in Rulon Clarks lab at San Diego State University where she is studying the relationship between movement and energy use across snake taxa. Her previous research has focused on the distribution, conservation, and behavioral ecology of herpetofauna populations throughout Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
