The San Diego Herpetological Society is pleased to welcome Andrew Borcher for an engaging presentation on environmental consulting and the conservation of Southern California's unique amphibians.

This presentation provides an introduction to environmental consulting as a rewarding career path for people with a passion for wildlife before taking attendees into the field through photographs, videos, and firsthand stories from 25 years of experience working throughout Southern California.

Learn about the ecology of our region's special-status toads and discover the important role environmental biologists play in protecting these remarkable species through habitat assessments, protocol surveys, invasive species management, construction monitoring, and environmental compliance. Along the way, you'll also learn how to identify several of Southern California's native and endangered toad species.

About the Speaker

Andrew Borcher is an environmental consultant with 25 years of experience searching for and protecting wildlife throughout Southern California.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and has spent his career conducting biological surveys, managing environmental compliance, and working to conserve sensitive wildlife species.

A lifelong herpetology and wildlife enthusiast, Andrew is passionate about sharing the fascinating ecology of California's amphibians and reptiles while inspiring others to pursue careers that combine conservation, science, and a love of the outdoors.
